椭圆形笔筒，镶红木口与底，下承四足。外壁以通景形式刻东坡赤壁夜游图。前景为东坡与僧、道二客所泛小舟，袍而长髯，凭几而坐者为东坡，一旁童子正煽火煮茶，老舟子二人齐力摇橹，刻划传神。巨石插立江中，湍流汹涌。两岸层峦迭嶂，松木遒劲，幽寂静穆，似闻江声汤汤传于远近，一派清风徐来，水波不兴之境。茂密虬松、霜叶等披于悬崖，益显壮丽。赤壁似天幕幔帐，右方障壁直如插天巨屏，气势撼人。
