此件器物以白玉雕琢而成，宝瓶外形，平唇方口，束颈雕兽面衔环双耳，肩部丰满，器外壁浮雕蕉叶纹、云头纹，饕餮纹，层层迭迭、繁而不乱。此瓶玉质润泽，材质硕大，雕刻工艺精良。饕餮纹又称兽面纹，宋代人将青铜器上表现兽的头部或以兽的头部为主的纹饰都称为饕餮纹。实际上这类纹饰是各种各样动物或幻想中的物象头部正视的图案，後来不少著作中称它为兽面纹。
