据清宫内务府造办处活计档记载，乾隆十年玻璃厂承命制造玻璃各式水盂一批，可见乾隆皇帝对此早已情有独钟，故佳作迭出。本品圆腹束口，六面出棱，色泽纯正，如蓝宝石般晶莹闪烁，高贵不凡。其形小巧，其工精致，风格简约而益见文人性情，实乃文房隽器。底双方框内刻“乾隆年制”楷书款。
