|此件铜错金凤耳瓶精铜铸造，胎体厚重。盘口束颈，微折肩，圆腹下收，圈足外撇。口沿外嵌金饰回纹装饰，肩部两侧饰凤鸟耳。器身作出戟，以云雷纹锦地错金装饰三组兽面纹，兽面圆睁双目，气势威严。纹饰以错金而成，线条流畅自然，技巧高超精湛，错金明丽，铜质敦厚典雅，精美华贵，颇为少见。|错金银工艺在青铜饰件上的使用，始于春秋中期，盛行于战国，西汉以后逐渐走向衰落。它的一般做法为，先在青铜器表面预先铸出或錾刻出图案、铭文所需的凹槽，然后嵌入金银丝、片，锤打牢固，再用蜡石将其打磨光滑，达到突出图案和铭文的装饰效果。
