The flaring fluted sides imitating chrysanthemum petals, with scallop rim, covered with a rich crimson-red glaze characteristically mottled with shades of pinkish white, the recessed base inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character H'suan-Te mark, 8 in diameter. Provenance: Property from the estate of Mr. Paul Schmaltz, Maryland, see item 1 on T.Y. King Works of Art receipt dated August 12, 1953.
