The screen is inlaid to the central black lacquer panel with gilt bronze, cloisonné enamel, bone, ivory, jade and hardstones in the form of precious objects such as vases, bells, jade plaques, and censers. The upper and lower panels are carved in low relief with confronting chilong around scrolling lotus. The reverse is decorated in gilt lacquer with figures in a mountainous landscape.
