Meiji era (1868-1912), dated 1886 An oban tate-e print Yoshinoyama yowa no tsuki: Iga no Tsubone (Mount Yoshino Midnight-Moon: Iga no Tsubone) from the series Tsuki hyakushi (100 Aspects of the Moon), depicting the lady-in-waiting to Emperor Go-Daigo (1288-1339) and his consort Ano Renshi (1311-1359) confronting the spirit of a court retainer, Sasaki no Kiyotaka, published by Akiyama Buemon in Meiji 19 (1886), signed Yoshitoshi with a seal Yoshitoshi no in; with the engraver's seal Enkatsu. 36cm x 24.5cm (14 1/8in x 9 5/8in).
