Meiji era (1858-1912), late 19th/early 20th centuryRaised on three mythological-head feet, inlaid around the body in high relief of gold with a coiled dragon on one side and a ho-o (phoenix) on the other among wisps of clouds between two bands of geometric motifs, the reticulated cover similarly inlaid with two sprays of peony and foliage, the cover surmounted by a finial in the form of a seated kirin, the interior of silver, the shoulder applied with an upright slab handle on either side; unsigned. 10.5cm (4 1/8in).
