Lai Fong of Calcutta (fl.1890-1910) The four-mastered Barque Beechbank at sea signed, inscribed and dated 'Lai Fong/Calcutta 1898' (lower right) oil on canvas 48cm x 59.5cm Lai Fong was one of a group of Chinese marine painters who worked for the captains and merchants of the oriental trade, painting their ships in oil on canvas.
