Y A Chinese painted gold-ground fan, depicting the West Lake in Hangzhou, late Qing Dynasty, by the Shu Lain Ji workshop, the gold paper painted with named scenes on the lake, the reverse with extensive calligraphy, red paper maker's label, ivory guards and sticks, closed 21.5cm high and open 34cm wide The fan was made by Shu Lian Ji, a renowned fan crafting workshop established in Hangzhou in the mid-Qing dynasty.
