A large Chinese porcelain Rose-Verte charger, Qing Dynasty, Kangxi-Yongzheng, circa 1722, painted in yellow, turquoise, blue, pink, mauve, black and green enamels with iron-red and gilded details, depicting a courtship scene with a pair of butterflies above and with attendants, including a man on a terrace, a man beside a 'bowing' horse and a lady with tea on a tray beside, with a coupling cockerel and hen below, the border with four leaf-shaped reserves of reclining ladies or a lady and child, brown line rim, 48cm diameter Provenance: Private collection, removed from a Hampshire country house and purchased by the current owner’s mother circa 1952.
