A CARVED CRYSTAL 'BASKETWEAVE' SNUFF BOTTLE, QING DYNASTYTranslucent rock crystal, with several natural inclusions, carved in high relief. China, 1750-1850Of compressed ovoid form, carved in circumferential manner and varying levels of relief to simulate a vessel wrapped for protection in a basket weave casing with an overall pattern of interlocking lozenges, the cloudy stone with a few natural brown lines on both sides.
