A FINE GILT-BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN, CHINA, late Ming dynasty, seated in vajrasana on a shaped plinth with both hands holding the scepter (ruyi), wearing monastic robes including a wide-sleeved mantle, its border finely engraved with scrolling tendrils, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into his nose-bridge, smiling lips, elongated earlobes with ear-rings cast as flower-heads, his hair combed in a chignon and secured with a tiara cast with minute figures of Buddha Shakyamuni - Property from an European private collection - Minor wear, very slightly chipped
