此件香炉敞口直腹，底部圆收，下承三狮首兽足。上配白玉宝珠拱顶圆盖，颈两侧置朝天耳，器形浑圆庄重，古朴典雅。通体呈棕红色，纹饰以莲瓣纹及如意云纹为主。深邃庄严的底色上搭配亮丽的金线，带来一种无以言表的雍容与尊华。体现出清代雕漆匠人杰出的艺术品位与无与伦比的精湛手艺，确实是一件难能可贵的杰作。古书有载：“识文描金，有用屑金者，有用泥金者，或金理，或划文，比描金则尤为精巧”，即是说识文描金分为屑金和泥金两种，前者是在用漆堆成的花纹上洒屑金，后者是则是贴金或上金。这两种做法都要在花纹堆成之后，上面再打金胶，然后金屑、金箔或金粉才黏着得上去。
