盖盒呈扁圆柱造型，盒身、盒盖中部沿口均作方唇，以子母扣合。盒身外壁以雕犀工艺施作器身，外表光亮平滑，纹饰富丽流畅，极具装饰美感。盒身外壁尽雕云纹图案，其间盖盒中部作圆，四周云气翻卷缠绕，各出一缕云丝向中部聚拢，使云纹图案于富丽华美之中又具规致齐整之效。盒面所刻云气线条优美婉转，所用刀工圆润细致，颇见功力。此件剔犀盖盒通体为云纹装饰，充分展现了剔犀雕刻之装饰美感，从而呈现整体高贵华美之工艺面貌，堪为明代精品。参阅：《故宫博物院藏文物珍品大系-元明漆器》P105 图77
