CON INCISI SIMBOLI BUDDHISTI ED ISCRIZIONI SUI BORDI, TIBET, XVI-XVII SECOLO - A RED LAQUER AND GILT BUDDHIST EMBLEMS ENGRAVED WOOD MANUSCRIPT COVER WITH INCISED SIDES, TIBET, 16TH-17TH CENTURY 72,5 cm wide, 24,5 cm high The central section finely carved depicting the Eight Buddhist emblems amongst stylized foliate scroll and framed by a relief Tibetan characters inscription. Along the sides, rarely decorated, a relief carving of Taoties masks ( probably kirttimukha) and seated Buddhas. In quite good condition- a few wood losses at the rim and some wears in colors.
