A pair of silver and ivory Shibayama vases, the ivory body with birds on a plum blossom branches in mother-of-pearl on one side and hibiscus, hagi and butterflies on the other side signed Shibayama and Ekishi on inlaid tablets, the foot, shoulders and neck of silver with flowers and scrolls in translucent enamels, at the base signed Motoyuki on a tablet. The handles in shape of dragons. Losses to the inlays. Late 19th century.This lot contains materials which require a CITES licence for export outside of the EU contract countries.
