A Shibayama ivory box in shape of a tooth segment decorated with mother-of-pearl inlays on one side with a bird in a blossoming cherry tree and clematis, on the other side with a windswept peony and small chrysanthemums, the flat lid with a chrysanthemum knob and decorated with a flower branch, the underside signed Masanobu on a mother-of-pearl tablet. Late 19th century. In addition a Shibayama ivory manjû inlaid with chrysanthemums (one restored) and signed Shibayama on a mother-of-pearl tablet.
