题识：星实年大人鉴，燮臣孙家鼐。||钤印：臣孙家鼐、燮臣||释文：冲融爱日庭帏乐，潇洒光风道义怀。 |孙家鼐，字燮臣，安徽寿县城关人。生于清道光年间，咸丰状元，担任过光绪皇帝的老师，历任工、礼、吏、户各部尚书及学务大臣、文渊阁大学士等职。戊戌变法时，开办京师大学堂，支持维新派的变法维新，是近代史上有名的政治家，人称“三代帝师，一朝名相”。其书法以楷行见长，工整严谨，雍容安祥。今县博物馆尚存有其楷书对联一幅幅，集欧、颜、赵三体之长，法度严谨，甚见功力。
