20th centuryEach pachyderm rendered standing at rest on its four legs with its trunk turned under and upward, its hide inlaid with flame scrolls, its back supporting a trumpet-neck vase with taotie masks rising from a blanket with dragon decoration, all picked out in bright colors on the turquoise blue enamel ground and some of the exposed metal edges finished with gilt-colored wash. 19 1/4in (49cm) high
