Two underglaze blue and copper-red porcelain snuff bottles
19th centuryThe first of elongated ovoid form, painted around the side walls with a group of dignitaries watching an opera performance, the inside of its waisted neck decorated in underglaze blue with five bats, the recessed base painted with a double-ring; the second a slender tapering bottle, portraying a fictional scene with figures in a mountainous setting, the underside bearing an apocryphal mark, reading 'Qianlong nian guanyao zao'.3 1/8 and 3 5/8in (8 and 9.3cm) high
