Manjushri Namasangiti. Tibet / China. Old partially fire-gilt copper bronze sculpture. Polychrome and cold gold painting. Stone ornaments. Height 21 cm (8.3"). Weight 1660 g. From Hamburg private collection. Twelve arms. Four hands holding a sword, a book, a bow and an arrow. One pair of hands holding an offering bowl and another pair showing the kshepana mudra and is dipping in the bowl. Two hands performing a gesture of protection in front of his heart center. The last pair of hands is raised over his head and showing the uttarabodhi mudra, the gesture of perfection. Seated in dhyana-asana on a double lotus throne. Wearing a crown with a depiction of a Garuda bird as well as some clothes and jewelry of an enlightened Bodhisattva. Bottom covered with consecration plate with seal. Slight signs of age and wear.
