款识：汝奇 |端溪水岩子石，随形制砚。方形下凹墨池，造型独具匠心，墨池一侧有一处石眼，实在是不可多得的砚材，砚堂并无明显下凹，浑然一体不露斧凿痕迹，构思巧妙，意境绝佳。端砚，因老坑而居四大名砚之首。老坑始采于唐代，盛于宋，距今1300多年，是最早开始开采的端砚坑口，故称“老坑”。因坑口内采石区常年积水，故又称“水岩”，最受历代砚痴追捧的还属老坑端石。|谢士骥（清），字汝奇，又字宏卿，闽县（今福州）人。约活动于康熙至乾隆间，工诗善书，与同邑周太史绍龙交好，书名亦相伯仲。
