|笔筒选粗壮之竹筒浮雕而成：庭院之中怪岩重叠，古枫掩映，苍松穿岩而出，蟠曲如龙，荷塘碧波荡漾；松下湖畔设有亭廊，内二女相谈甚欢，门外一人似在偷听，人物神态刻画细腻到位。整体构图饱满，故事性极强。明末清初伊始戏曲、小说为题材的版画流行一时，竹雕、瓷器、书画、版画均有涉及，其中“西厢记”故事是清代颇为盛行的装饰题材。此器题材虽以木刻版画为摹本，但以刀挥洒于竹材之上，更富艺术感染力，为一件难得的文房佳作。|参阅：《中国竹木牙角图典》，紫禁城出版社，2010年，页31。
