|此花觚在传统形制之上有清一代的审美创新。喇叭葵口、束颈鼓腹、腹身作八菱形，圈足亦方正微撇，器型周正有度。商周觚为酒器，而此件底足做法不同于商周之器，是以为装饰或插花所用。觚以精铜铸造，铜质纯练，深褐色皮壳柔腻莹润，饰以洒金，仿佛仙鹤飞舞，更见纷繁灿烂。与此洒金工艺相类的觚式瓶可见朱力主编《明清古玩真赏》，上海古籍出版社，2003年，页122。
