|参阅：《故宫博物院藏文物珍品大系——两宋瓷器（上）》，图49、81，页57、99，上海科学技术出版社。||此件洗较浅，腹壁内收，平底微向上凹。内外均施白釉，口镶金边，内底刻划“莲花”纹饰，刀锋犀利娴熟，线条流畅。整器釉面白润纯净，所饰莲花纹自然、素雅，莲花纹取其“出淤泥而不染，濯清涟而不妖”之高洁寓意。因此以莲纹装饰的定窑白瓷最能为文人士大夫所接受。
