The foliate box is decorated in relief with panels enclosing ships infilled with coloured enamels, the rim is decorated with a flower band. The cover consists of a famille rose porcelain cover decorated with precious objects inset into a champleve enamel mount decorated with the Eight Buddhist Emblems, all surmounted by a green glass filigree hat finial. The interior is set with a short cylindrical green glass bowl.Condition: The porcelain cover has a crack to the rim (approx. 3 cm.), and a chip to the inside rim (approx. 1.2 cm.).There are a few thin holes to some of the creases between the petal lobes There are traces of tin to the edges of the box.There are dents and wear to the metal and enamels as expected with use.The underside of the box is stamped twice with 'CHINA'.There is some minor wear to the rim of the glass bowl.Origin: ChinaPeriod: 19th and 20th centurySizes: 12.50 cm.
