by Samuel Courtauld (I), London 1757Baluster form, the body richly chased and embossed with flowers amongst scrolls, the sides applied with cast panels, one depicting a lady holding a parasol with a pagoda and palm trees in the background, the other depicting a lady in a tropical landscape with a hammock below a building in the background, the lid with vine leaf final and gadrooned edge, the spout formed as a bird's beak with Bacchanalian mask junction, with a wood scroll handle, height 24.6cm, weight total 31.7oz.
