A Chinese export silver ovoid tea caddy and cover by Luen Wo (LW, chop mark, LW), Shanghai, the pull-off cover engraved Esklls, the body embossed with a bamboo section and leaves, 11.5cm (4 1/2in) high, 236g (7.6 oz) See von Ferscht, Adrien Chinese Export Silver 1785-1940: Catalogue of Makers’ Marks, 4th edition, Glasgow 2015, p. 473ff, for the maker’s marks and illustrations of various wares. Luen Wo traded from 42 Nanking Road, Shanghai from circa 1880 to 1940.
