Korea, Goryeo DynastyThe first of tall conical shape, with incised slip decoration of stylised cranes and smaller birds alighting over a band of stylised lappets encircling the centre, simply decorated to the exterior with four parallel lines; the second of shallow form, with central florets encircled by ruyi bands and four clusters of pomegranates just under the hatched scroll beneath the rim, the exterior also with a band of flowerheads and scrolling motifs.18.3cm (7 1/4in) diam. and 20.5cm (8 1/4in) diam.
