Signed Xianpan, 18th centuryThe cylindrical vessel finely carved in low relief to the exterior with a sage relaxing under a willow tree by a river bank, raised on three low feet, with a short inscription reading 'Made by the Immortal of the Great Rock'.11.2cm (4 3/8in) high
|The moniker 仙磐 xianpan does not seem to have an associated artist recorded. However, see a large bamboo brush pot bearing this signature, in the Robert H. Blumenfield collection, offered at Christie's Hong Kong, 7 April 2015, lot 3048, and another brush pot, also signed, sold at Christie's Hong Kong, 30 May 2012, lot 4291.
