A Victorian mahogany twin pedestal desk, circa 1860, of Dickens type, with superstructure comprising a pair of miniature chests with wellington type locking action above a raised integral writing slope, 99cm high, 114cm wide, 67cm deep The form of this desk with raised writing slope is similiar to the one at the Charles Dickens Museum on which he is know to have written Great Expectations and his final, unfinished novel The Mystery of Edwin Drood
