depicting Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, standing on a three stepped octagon base in a modified position of "Royal ease" with the right hand holding a vase with "Nectar of Immortality (Amrta)"and with halo.

Provenance: The Alain Presencer Collection of Buddhist Art. Purchased by the vendor in c2001.Previously in and purchased from the collection of Ernest Ohly,the owner of the Berkeley Gallery,Davies Street,London mid to late 1970's.
This was one of two Sui /Tang Guanyin figures Alain Presencer purchased from Ernest Ohly.The other one of a similar size but without the elaborate halo was sold at Bonhams,Hong Kong in the sale of the The Presencer Collection of Buddhist Art,2nd October 2018,Lot 148.
