Four lacquer inro


Edo period, 17th and 18th centuryThe first a black-lacquer four-case inro, decorated in relief with a water battle scene, 8cm high; the second a black ishime lacquer four-case inro with a dragon amidst clouds in gold takamaki-e, signed on the bottom Ryugyokusai, 10.8cm high; the third a black-lacquer three-case inro lacquered in gold takamaki-e with tea ceremony utensils and an incense burner in front of a two-panel folding screen, 7cm high; the fourth a gold-lacquer four-case inro with a hawk perched on a pine branch, in gold takamaki-e with inlaid shell details, 8cm high; with a lacquered wood manju netsuke carved with foliage.(5).
