Provenance:Property from a Midwest American collection.Note:The Yue kilns flourished since before the Tang dynasty and produced one of the first official Chinese ceramic ware. Octagonal vases were mainly used as water vessels for washing hands, a similar vase with ringed neck was unearthed in 1987 from the tomb of Famen temple at Fufeng of Shaanxi province.
