题识：潘祖荫题：此莲西同年书也。江海误作湖字，遂弃置案头，适为犀盦前辈所见，爱其书法工妙，携归装治。佛氏因缘要从不住相始兼质。莲西当大欢喜。时咸丰壬子季冬，郑盦潘祖荫识于古欢室。钤印：潘祖荫印、伯寅 |（潘祖荫题跋）||释文：读书岂为文章设，纵步不知江湖深。||（潘祖荫题跋）||王维珍，字颖初，一字席卿，号莲西，一号莲溪，又号大井逸人。天津人。咸丰十年(1860)进士，官通政使司副使，掌接各省题本与臣民建言、陈情、申诉等事。同治十一年(1872)以事忤慈禧太后，被议处。工诗文，善书法。
