Carved Rock Crystal Quartz Chalice with Emerald and Gold by Manfred Wild


Idar-Oberstein, Germany Of classical form, carved from a single specimen of optically clear, natural rock crystal quartz, having two integral grooved handles. The stem formed of a black chalcedony spacer, between borders of 3 round emerald cabochons, weighing 7.51 carats. The body decorated with laurel leaf and swag motif as well as one emerald drop cabochon to the front, weighing approximately 15.86 carats, and one emerald drop cabochon to the back, weighing 14.41 carats. Entirely mounted in 18K yellow gold, weighing 138 grams. Raised on an octagonal base of Russian black obsidian. Height overall with removable obsidian base: 7 in
