Late Qing/Republic PeriodOf flattened baluster form with curling leaf handles at the neck, the red ground carved with flower and leaf sprays surrounding oblate fan-shaped reserves, one reserve depicting an immortal and his attendant looking at a crane, the other of an aged scholar on his mule led by a young attendant with a plum blossoms, the exposed black lacquer ground beneath finished with a variety of diaper patterns (repaired).6 1/4in (16cm) high
