A carved cameo agate snuff bottle


19th centuryWell-hollowed, the rounded square bottle standing on a splayed oval foot, with a cylindrical neck, recessed lip, worked with the dark inclusions in the gray-toned matrix, carved in relief on one side to depict a monkey riding a horse, with bees hovering nearby, the reverse featuring stemmed lotus leaves gracefully rising from a swirl of water.2 1/4in (5.7cm) high
