|元代工匠在雕琢玉炉顶表面的图案时，善以深刀重刻，植物的花、叶或翻或卷，凹凸明显；动物的头、颈、躯干，四肢被重刀隔离开来，刀纹深，主体富有立体感。纹饰的细节则以单阴线刻划，刚劲有力，虽起止痕明显，线条不匀齐，显得粗糙，但质朴深厚，古拙大气。
