款识：|1.谨堂汪由敦识。谨堂。|2.汲东井洌甘泉入良亩丰，万田置南窗斫为砚瑞象呈河洛现。 |说明：汪由敦（1692－1758），号谨堂，字师苕，又号松泉居士。安徽休宁人。生于清康熙三十一年，卒于乾隆二十三年，年六十七岁。雍正二年（1724年）进士，改庶吉士。乾隆间，累官至吏部尚书。老诚敏慎，在职勤劳。金川用兵，廷谕皆出其手。卒，加赠太子太师，谥文端。由敦学问渊深，文辞雅正，兼工书法。
