A MEISSEN SAUCER, circa 1740, painted with a Kauffahrtei scene depicting merchants with their wares by a quayside, ships in the background, within an elaborate gilt foliate cartouche edged in brown and embellished with purple scrollwork, the rim with a gilt diaper and scrollwork border, 13.5cm diameter, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue and gold number 15.
