|玉蝉在中国古玉文化中占有重要的地位，《史记》曰：“蝉蜕于浊秽，以浮游尘埃之外。”古人以蝉为高洁、通灵之象征，以生为佩可彰显高尚洁净之品格。此对玉蝉以白玉为材，质地坚润。蝉体呈菱形，头部微突，双目外鼓，宽颈细尾，中脊较厚，背部以粗阴线琢对称双翼，腹面上部均以简洁有力的短线为蝉之口器。玉蝉线条简练，粗犷有力，表面平滑光亮，边沿棱角锋利，不施繁复纹饰却勾勒出其立体生动，颇有“汉八刀”的风范。
