|插屏由上等祁阳石制成，石质温润细腻，肌理莹透，以紫色为主，间有浅绿色石层，采用减地高浮雕技法，雕刻渔樵耕读情景，山川河流，树木山石，亭台楼阁，都依石色变化，巧夺天工而成，让人不得不佩服工匠的巧妙构思。原配红木座，颇为雅致。祁阳石因产于湖南祁阳县而得名，质地细滑而沉，可用于琢制砚台，以此大材制座屏，亦别有趣味。
