Provenance: Inscriptions relate to John Dougherty (1677-1755), of Bewdley, Worcestershire, who was a teacher of mathematics and author of Mathematical Digest published in 1748 including a chapter on dialling; sold in these rooms 11th March 2014 (lot 33).
