Pages toned, dampstaining at upper and lower margins.Page 1, column 1 begins "Dr. Franklin," followed by a quote: "When an eminent man dies, it is worth while to enquire into the causes which conducted him to eminence." The paper goes on to heap praise on the late, celebrated Dr. Franklin, "illustrious patriot and philosopher," complimenting his political and academic genius. "The whole tenor of his life was a perpetual lecture against the idle, the extravagant, and the proud. It was his principal aim to inspire mankind with a love of industry, temperance and frugality, and to inculcate such duties as promote the important interests of humanity."
