Manuscript Fair Copy in unknown hand of New Hampshire official, acknowledging receipt of $20,000 pay and subsistence for state militia, 1 p, folio (385 x 240 mm), Portsmith, NY, November 12, 1814, to Nehemiah Freeman, creased, some darkening at folds.A retained copy recording that $20,000 (at the time an enormous sum) was received from Nehemiah Freeman, "on account of the Pay, subsistance and Forage, of the New Hampshire drafted militia, in the Service of the United States, for the year 1814...." At the bottom of the sheet is a fair copy of the correspondence to Freeman.
