by John Edward Terrey, London 1832With profuse chinoiserie-style chasing and embossing, the finials formed as figures reclining beneath parasols, the handles with ivory insulators, four pieces engraved with arms, height of coffee pot 21cm, weight 152oz. (7)
|Richard WEYLAND (1780-1864) second son of John WEYLAND (1743-1825) of Woodrising Hall, Norfolk and Woodeaton, Islip Oxfordshire by Elizabeth Johanna NOURSE (1745-1822) daughter and heir of John NOURSE of Woodeaton. Richard WEYLAND was a cavalry officer 1805-20 and in 1831 became Whig MP for Oxfordshire. He married in 1820 Charlotte GORDON (1785-1845) daughter of Sir Charles GORDON (died 1814) of Cluny Castle Dumfries by Jackie TROTTER. On the death of his older brother John WEYLAND (1774-1854) inherited Woodeaton.
