worked in various stitches including satin and moss stich and French knots in various coloured silks, chenille, wool, couched silver thread and embroidered seed pearls on an ivory ground, the seated female musician depicted in contemporary dress flanked by a foal and a snail and a rabbit within a floral arbour, the background landscape including three large stylised flowers, a dog chasing a hare, a parrot and various other flowers, insects and birds, a tree to the top left corner and a town to the top right corner, the whole mounted within later burr wood glazed fame with velvet slip, the panel, 36cm x 24cm, the frame, 39.5cm x 52cm high
