the dial signed John Howes, Croydonthe hood with moulded cornice and pierced sound fret above a pair of spiral columns, the panelled trunk door with oval lenticle on plinth base, the 10" brass dial with putto's mask spandrels, the silvered Roman chapter ring with Arabic outer minute track, the sanded centre with subsidiary seconds below twelve, the brass twin train movement striking on a bell, 194cm high
